FolioLive™ is an electronic portfolio tool that allows the creation of fully customized electronic portfolios.


How does one create a portfolio using FolioLive™ ?

Creating an electronic portfolio with FolioLive™ is easy to do.

  1. Choose a design template or create your own design.
  2. Add introductory material for the main page of your portfolio.
  3. Choose a FolioLive™ organizing Framework with suggested artifacts or create your own table of contents.
  4. Upload existing artifacts (any file type) or create new ones in a FolioLive™ template.
    • Add an introduction and/or reflection
    • Link the artifact to a standard
  5. See your finished portfolio.
  6. Go back at any time and edit/reorganize your portfolio.

What are the options for organizing portfolios? Can they be organized around standards?

You can organize your portfolio in any way you would like - you create the organization. FolioLive™ does provide serveral Frameworks (tables of contents) that you can use as they are or edit. Because you organize your portfolio, it can easily be constructed around a set of standards. In addition, several FolioLive™ Frameworks based on standards (including INTASC) are available.

Is it possible to create more than one portfolio?

Yes. Users can create multiple portfolios with different organizations and combinations of artifacts for different purposes (course portfolio, program portfolio, interview portfolio).

FolioLive™ includes a Resources section that has information on how to organize your portfolio around standards, writing your philosophy of education, the importance of reflection, what goes into a portfolio, and more.

What are the system requirements for using FolioLive™ ?

There are no special technical requirements to use FolioLive™ . As an online tool, FolioLive™ can be used on PCs or Macs.

Where will my portfolio be housed? Is it possible for me to download it onto my computer?

Your portfolios are housed on the McGraw-Hill server and can be downloaded as a .ZIP file to your computer.

Who has access to my portfolio?

You have control over who has access to your portfolio. You can password protect it, or leave it open for anyone to view.
